ABOUT

Charcoal • Pastel • Mixed Media
I began creating at the age of seven, entertaining my great-grandparents with imaginative stories and hand-drawn illustrations. What started as childhood play in Philadelphia grew into a lifelong creative practice that continues to shape who I am today.
As an artist, I work primarily in charcoal, pastel, paint, and mixed media, creating expressive portraits and artwork that celebrate emotion, imagination, and the beauty of the creative process.
I create because I'm drawn to the experience of building something from nothing—slowly, intentionally, and with care. Working with charcoal and pastels is a grounding, meditative process where touch, patience, and curiosity guide every piece. Not every artwork unfolds exactly as I imagined, and I've learned that's part of the beauty. The journey matters just as much as the finished work.
Brown Girl From Philly is more than a name—it's a tribute to where my creativity first took root and a reminder that our beginnings help shape the stories we tell. Through original artwork, creative products, and art education, my goal is to encourage others to embrace creativity as a source of reflection, growth, and everyday joy.
Whether you're collecting a piece of my work, exploring a creative product, or learning alongside me, I hope you feel inspired to slow down, create boldly, and reconnect with your own imagination.
